Animmersion UK and Viral Effect have formed a new collaboration to help national consumer franchise businesses that support freshers’ week by addressing the social distancing challenge.
The two Middlesbrough companies joined forces when it became apparent that for major brands, supporting University freshers’ week with their traditional approach wasn’t going to be possible. One major franchise from the food sector is already on board with the programme and many more are actively involved.
The new alliance follows the development of Animmersion’s Virtual Interactive Events (VIE) service, which enables Viral Effect to support major brand clients with an online, on demand virtual freshers’ fayre experience that students can enjoy through PC, smart phone and tablet devices.
Launched at the start of the lockdown, VIE utilises Animmersion’s proven technologies, including real-time 3D pitching software, online interactive product explorers and VR/AR, to deliver a class-leading virtual event and remote presentation service tailored to individual client needs.
At a time when Universities and Colleges are restricted to the support that can be provided to traditional freshers’ week due to the COVID-19 outbreak, VIE provides a state-of-the-art solution to maximise franchisee brand awareness and student engagement.
Middlesbrough-based Viral Effect is a specialist B2C digital marketing agency working with local and national businesses managing their social media channels to create positive brand experiences for consumers. Established in 2012, the business has longstanding relationships with major UK franchises including Costa Coffee, Domino’s Pizza and Kaspa’s Desserts.
Samuel Harrison, Managing Director of Animmersion UK, said: “This exciting collaboration demonstrates how local businesses can combine key strengths to address event challenges through digital innovation. We’re confident that this will enable national brands to continue supporting University events and provide students with an interactive and engaging experience.”
James Pennington, CEO of Viral Effect, said “We are a fresh thinking and creative company, and we are really excited to be working alongside Animmersion on this new immersive experience which will lead the way in virtual fresher’s events, giving us the opportunity longer term to expand into wider locations.”
